Memories of Lake Geneva
For over 50 years Lake Geneva, WI was the home for the encampment offering families a week of spiritual and physical renewal. We've collected many written memories from attendees. Here are their thoughts...
There are so many precious memories from Lake Geneva Encampment. I really must mention two:
Many years ago when it was Joe Mason's first time here we had a tornado scare. We were all herded into the room below the cafeteria. We sat/stood in there a bit confised and scared. Joe took over getting the crowd singing and laughing. We know our Joe was a talented man, but we were especially proud that now everyone else knew it too!
Another year we had an especially lively group of folks. While sitting in the ice cream parlor. Ann Crittenden in league with Jim Mank, snuck up behind Tony and plowed him in th eface with a cream pie. Never to be out done a real old fashioned, no holds barred pie fight followed. We then learned Ash's scholarly, sin requires forgiveness, prank requires retribution.
